Rome, city that surprise me
Rome a beautiful, ancient city and one which I will return. No crowds, blue skies and the mesmerizing array of narrow streets, stunning architecture and surprises around every corner. A cultural delight to be captured using a wide angle lens. Our local guide led us to the landmarks passionately reliving stories of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci together with gladiator fights at the Colosseum.
The city is alive with culture and style, history and art providing inspiration and energy for any photographer. We were lucky with the light and the lack of people made it a joy to capture the angles of ancient and modern, cobbles and fountains, day and night.
Spring in Rome is a must for anyone curious about recording stunning landmarks and telling the story of ancient civilizations and magnificent art and Theatre.
Here are a few tips I learned during the film shoot:
Wide angle lens
Shoot early morning or late evening, it definitely helped to be there at the end of February for sunrise and sunset times;
Use natural “tripod” items for longer exposure, walls, benches;
Use natural framing - bridges, side of the buildings;
Use water reflections if you can;
